I suspect the interpretation is "the election for the term beginning in 2023".  So I don't have a problem.

But you are right in that we should be using clear and consistent language. 

I'll try to do better in my announcements/emails.

Shouldn’t this be 2022 election? The term begins in 2023 but the election happens in 2022.

 

Am I right?
