Excuse me. What I should have said was that, "as recently as 2007, W2VU served on the Public Relations Committee."

See http://www.arrl.org/pio/contact/2007/02/ or Document 25 of the January 2008 Board meeting.

Just as a point of clarification, W2VU is not on the Public Relations

EHAM.COM

Whereas the spirit shown by Director Mileshosky is commendable, I
would like to add a few comments.

1) I still personally advocate not replicating what others are doing.
I don't see how replicating something benefits Amateur Radio.

2) I don't view EHam and QRZ primarily as enemies, with which we
should be expending energy fighting. They are operations run by
volunteer Amateurs who have many of he same objectives that we do.
Many are ARRL members.

For example, two of the EHam founders are heavily involved with the
ARRL contest program. The entire electronic contest-log submission
operation is run and subsidized by one of them. I would hate to see
what would happen if we offended him.

3) Even with respect to CQ Magazine, keep in mind that CQ Magazine
editor, W2VU, is an ARRL Life Member and is even on the ARRL public
relations committee. Additionally, a group of overlapping contest
volunteers is involved with both the ARRL and CQ contest programs.

4) As has been elaborated on previously, I rather see us cooperatively
partner with other organizations, bring them close to the League, and
utilize their talents and energy.
