That is sad news.  I understand Bill's challenge and wish him well.  Bill was my mentor in the back row.  I sat next to him for the years that I was Vice Director.  He explained what was going on, what was expected from me, and what he found funny and distracting.  I've never known him to talk down about anyone.  But with a twinkle in his eye, he did point out the humor or irony when it occurred.
