This was inevitable and should be anticipated as to other national ham radio organizations spinning up in the next few years. It would be interesting to see if they are organized as a non-profit or a conventional business start-up. As to spectrum defense, it will also be interesting to see what they plan to do and with what level of funding. Having representation or expertise of any level in Washington alone will be likely more than they might raise or afford for some time, if at all. As a separate matter, the Radio Club of America, ("RCA") the oldest and most historic such radio organization in the country, might have something to say about their choice of possibly confusingly similar names. The RCA name is a registered US trademark as well. Ham radio Prep, started by two relatively new hams has now formed their own radio club. $48 per year you get their tech training plus they have a spectrum defense fund and other benefits. They bill monthly rather than yearly. I wonder how their spectrum defense efforts will work, whether they will cooperate with us or whether they will compete.
