Ladies & Gentlemen,
I am pleased to forward a preprint of an article that will appear in the February issue of QST. The article was prepared by the Legislative Action Committee to introduce ARRL members to the Legislative Action Program.
We want you to be aware of this article before it is read by our members. We hope a number of them will contact you to express and interest in the LAP. We wanted you to be prepared for any inquiries.
PLEASE BE AWARE that Rick Lindquist has specifically requested we not distribute copies of the article until after the February issue has been put into the mail. It is OK to talk about, but please do not send a copy of it to anyone before the February QST is mailed.
We thank Sue Fagan for the artwork and Rick for arranging prompt publication.
As always, please contact any member of the Committee with any comments or questions.
Happy New Year to you.

Jim,
This is how the article turned out. Hope you and the committee are pleased with it -- and that it brings the results you're (we're) looking for.
Feel free to distribute it to the committee. I'd ask only that it be "for their eyes only" until the February issue has been mailed. Mailing will be completed January 9.
73, Joel
