The bulk of the research studies have found that people who claim to have EHS are unable to distinguish real electromagnetic transmissions from sham exposures. The World Health Organization held a large workshop on the topic about 15 years ago and concluded that “EHS has no clear diagnostic criteria and there is no scientific basis to link EHS symptoms to EMF exposure.” There are always outlying studies and closer inspection generally shows that they were poorly performed. The email that you forwarded linked to what seems to be one such study, in which FMRI scans of EHS claimants appear to be vastly different from controls. Since FMRI indicates local blood flow to different areas of the brain that are assumed to be due to increased brain activity, the increases in the EHS study could easily be increased activity due to fear of the exposure. Interestingly, MRI transmits EMF into the subject in order to generate its images. I wonder if the EHS claimants were aware of that.
