So many
people seem to think it is dorky to say things that are positive and
appreciative -- that you have to find fault in order to appear knowledgeable and
cool. It really is letters like this that give me the best answer to that
perennial Board member's bad-day question: "What the hell do I do this for,
anyhow?" When somebody tells us that the ARRL's work is making his ham radio
life better, with no self-serving kissing-up involved, then it is so much easier
to keep the cheap shots and b.s. in their proper
perspective.
