Mike and Mickey

Mickey, you are correct that both the ARRL and ARES are grossly underrepresented in this presentation. Ken Bailey states, in his presentation, "this is a disaster." It sums up his presentation in full.

His presentation was embarrassing — at multiple levels.  We represent that we are, as an emergency communications response organization, a reliably competent organization.  There was no evidence to support that representation in Bailey's presentation.

Why was an employee with NO presentation skills or "presence" permitted to represent the League? Ken Bailey is not a bad man and he has been a loyal and valued employee for some time, but he clearly has no presentation skills and based on his comments, is woefully uninformed on certain programs. Someone so lacking and so uninformed should never be the "face" of the ARRL.

Just one example of carelessness in Bailey's presentation:  "Messing handling" was one of the Powerpoint entries. How much effort does it require to conduct a basic spell check?

Mickey, as to internet backbones for linked repeaters, there is expertise available, as such amateur radio systems do exist. If you wish introductions, it would be my pleasure to assist. But, as Mike pointed out, internet connections, while useful, don't equate to "when all else fails."
