25 JUL 2008 - 1600 CDT Judy and I have recovered from our long driving trip to Nova Scotia (5 day visit) and Connecticut (ARRL Board Meeting). We left here early the morning of 10 JUL and arrived back home 22 JUL. We drove a little over 3200 statute miles and sailed approximately 225 nautical miles each way on "The Cat", a large catamaran car ferry between Portland, ME and Yarmouth, NS. The ride was about 6 hours each way (running at a fuel-saving 45 mph on the open sea), but this eliminated two days of 12 hour driving. Would we do this trip again? Yes, in order to see the parts of Nova Scotia we missed this time. - Dick, W9GIG
