The month of December is a write-off for recruiting, according to Gary Buxton. If we can relax the requirement to attend in January, there is a lot more time available. The schedule Jim showed is a compromise between the January Board meeting requirement and enough time for the search and evaluation. In the event, we may be forced to relax that constraint if our offer to our first-choice candidate is not accepted. If our second choice is also very good, there might not be a hiccup. But if we have to go back to our group of semi-finalists, that will probably push us over the January edge. With regard to transition date, Doug is right about a candidate potentially wanting to defer starting in order to receive a bonus or other additional compensation for 2015. That might work in our favor, since it would reduce the time of overlapping salaries as the new person joins the organization. The Dec 1 date reflects the December write-off, but a later start date might be preferable.
