Ladies and Gents: I received an email yesterday evening from the Sacramento Valley SM, Jerry Boyd, K6BZ, announcing his resignation as SM. Jerry is one of the very best of SMs, one whose reputation for excellence extends well beyond California. Jerry has been planning for some time to move from California to Oregon, so he would not have been able to serve as SM far into the future. However, the Section News decision caused him to reevaluate his schedule and resign now, in protest, rather than wait until his plans for moving to Oregon were firmed up. I don't intend to continue to debate the wisdom of our decision. The debate is over and you all know what I think. However, this resignation speaks volumes. 73. Jim, W6CF
