Speaking as a daily practitioner working in the world of cybersecurity, the landscape of e-mail has changed tremendously since Moses and Rick came on the board. It is time that
we catch up as an organization in regards to best practices and information governance.
I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Berry last week about the impact of e-mail issues on his daily work load. It astonished me that he spends on average 4 to 5 hours a week
just running down e-mail delivery issues. This isn’t an issue with Microsoft 365 or whatever other product you want to cast a stone at. The issue is that we are not all using the same platform – plain and simple. The result is consumed hours by our internal
IT team to run down issues that are beyond their control or support abilities.
I intend to introduce the topic of “ODV Email Standardization” at the A&F meeting this week for discussion. I have all intentions of making a motion to require all ODV members
to use the ARRL provided email account to send and receive all official board records including email messages and documents.
I am happy to discuss this topic with anyone further before the A&F or board meetings this week.

Despite the obvious attempt to insult through inference, the only thing that has changed is what was addressed as a major problem at EC more than a year ago:
Email service providers are getting more and more aggressive with filtering and we are struggling to continue offering forwarding solutions that are reliable
So, it is a full year later, things have gotten worse with these providers, and I am still dealing with board members having problems with email forwarding. How in the world this has anything to with Personify
is a total mystery to me. And, Ms. Jairam who angrily demanded that she chair the sub-committee to look at email forwarding never conducted a single meeting. Not one. Yet every other person named to that sub-committee already knows what the end-point is:
reliable email forwarding is a dead end.
Everyone on the board should be using their arrl.org account, through an email client or web browser, to conduct ARRL business. This is a business, it is best practice, and I am astonished that the attorneys
on the board have not raised the range of issues associated with security, confidentiality, control, discovery, etc. I will assume they have not because they prefer to use their personal email for accessing ARRL business emails and conducting ARRL business
outside the reach of the organization.
A&F should progress a motion to the board to insist that all board business and communications of ODV be serviced using the arrl.org server and require accessing it through a proper client. No more issues
with chasing down problems with forwarding emails from reflectors.

Welcome to the Club.
Prior to Personify and Microsoft Mail 365 the email problems — both with ODV and "normal" email usage — did not exist. You've been here since Moses and me since 2011. Historically we as an organization
have not been burdened with the spate of email problems we are experiencing.
One may draw one's own conclusions.

I just found out that I have not been receiving some ODV email. I've not received 15 of the last 30 ODV messages, and I've not had time to go back before that date so there may be more. I never had this
problem before I heard the words Microsoft 365 floating around. Be that as it may, I ain't pleased.
Art, I'll put in $500 for the staff appreciation bench. I just heard about it.
