We are pleased to welcome four new Maxim Society members: Bill Hider, N3RR, Edmund Schweitzer III, W7KOW, John Gersbacher, K6JJ and Gary Ferdinand, W2CS.
Development is prepping for a Spectrum Defense Fund solicitation in April.
Invitations to the 14th Annual Donor Reception in Dayton (May 15, 2014) will be sent out next week. This year, the
guest speaker is Matt Severin, N8MS, a professional educator and ARRL Education & Technology Program Instructor.
Response continues to be strong to the 150,000 direct mail solicitation to the general membership for the Second Century Campaign.
Sales and Marketing

Diane Petrilli reports that the next large membership campaign will mail on April 7.
Planning for Dayton Hamvention is well underway. Membership collateral has been submitted for graphic design, exhibit space and parking passes have been ordered, and “ARRL team” registration
materials are being prepared. Overhead banners and posters for ARRL EXPO at Dayton Hamvention are being prepared. Reminder: All graphic requests should be discussed with Jackie prior to April 1.
The specifications for population samples for the upcoming national Amateur Radio market study have been prepared. This is a first step in preparing for this study, which was last conducted
in 2003 and 1992. Readex Research will again administer the survey and deliver the post-survey analysis and results.
Banner ads promoting registration for the ARRL National Centennial Convention and ARRL Field Day merchandise have been prepared for the e-newsletters.
Jackie Ferreira reports that ARRL has been registered as a charitable organization on AmazonSmile. When anyone shops on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com) and selects American Radio Relay
League Inc. (ARRL) as a charity of choice, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to ARRL. This has yet to be introduced to ARRL members, but anyone who shops on Amazon can visit smile.amazon.com for more information
and how to get started.
Materials were assembled for an ARRL exhibit at Amateur Electronic Supply (AES), in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in April. Bob Inderbitzen is traveling to the event as the Membership Contact
Representative. The exhibit will be supported by Central Division Director Dick Isely, W9GIG, Vice Director Kermit Carlson, W9XA, and Wisconsin Section Manager Gary Sorensen, W9ULK.

Joe updated the web code practice files and their archives. He met for a quick meeting with Deb Johnson and volunteer Greg Secord, K1MVQ, to discuss the planned ARISS contact scheduled during the ARRL Centennial
Convention period. Joe also updated the code practice text source web pages. He continues updating Logbook of the World with the various W1AW/xx Centennial operations as well as sorting/storing the QSL card requests being received for each operation.
Field Organization/Public Service Team
Preparations continue for the Delaware, Indiana, Maine, and Northern Florida Section Manager elections. Leona Adams composed candidate statements/photographs for the election circulars that accompany the ballots
in preparation for printing. With assistance from the Mailroom staff, extra ballot envelopes were ordered, printed and delivered in preparation for the ballot mailing by April 1.
Radio amateurs from Michigan, Connecticut, and Mississippi successfully completed requirements to become Official Observers this past week. Chuck Skolaut sent documentation that had been received to the FCC
regarding a re-occurring identification infraction.
A report of a pirate radio station, YHWH, on 7.175 MHz was reported by a California radio amateur. This is under investigation. Chuck also returned March 16th from a successful ARRL Nebraska State Convention
in Lincoln, where he was able to meet with the Director, Vice Director, Section Manager and the Official Observer Coordinator there. A total of 17 new or renewed memberships were obtained along with 2 QEX subscriptions. Thanks go to Elizabeth, the wife of
Rod, KØDAS, Midwest Vice Director who handled the booth while others were attending forums.
