 We've been too nice to the FCC for years and 
should be demanding that they provide the public with summary information - or 
we should be filing the necessary FOIA requests to get the information.   The 
FCC would soon find out that it would be easier to generate the data on a 
regular basis than to handle monthly FOI requests.

Damn FCC.

Actually, the amazing thing to me is that the FCC can get away without providing 
accurate statistics on even the most basic functions of the Amateur Radio 
Service.   At one time they issued monthly information on new licensees, 
upgrades and callsigns - now that information has to be calculated by third 
parties based on the monthly FCC activity data files.

How can the FCC justify providing the VEC information to VECs on a confidential 
basis?  They're a government agency, funded by all of our taxes, and subject to 
Freedom of Information laws.   We've been too nice to the FCC for years and 
should be demanding that they provide the public with summary information - or 
we should be filing the necessary FOIA requests to get the information.   The 
FCC would soon find out that it would be easier to generate the data on a 
regular basis than to handle monthly FOI requests.

Damn FCC.
