Fred, I'm glad you raised this as I was going to but I'm just now getting to emails today. BTW, it took Holly and me 16 hours to get home. It was one of those trips that goes into the Board meeting travel chapters. And we are still looking for our luggage. (hi) Anyway, folks, we spent more time on editing motions on the floor than I ever recall. That includes typos. We've got to do a better job next time. Let's all work on it, and that includes getting motions distributed sooner for review. 73Rick - K5UR -----Original Message----- From: Fred Hopengarten <k1vr@arrl.org> To: 'ODV' <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Sent: Sun, Jul 21, 2019 10:43 pm Subject: [arrl-odv:28409] Re: Centenarian hams #yiv5931954312 #yiv5931954312 -- _filtered #yiv5931954312 {font-family:Helvetica;panose-1:2 11 6 4 2 2 2 2 2 4;} _filtered #yiv5931954312 {panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;} _filtered #yiv5931954312 {font-family:Calibri;panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4;} _filtered #yiv5931954312 {font-family:Tahoma;panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4;} _filtered #yiv5931954312 {font-family:Consolas;panose-1:2 11 6 9 2 2 4 3 2 4;} _filtered #yiv5931954312 {panose-1:2 2 5 2 5 3 5 2 3 3;} #yiv5931954312 #yiv5931954312 p.yiv5931954312MsoNormal, #yiv5931954312 li.yiv5931954312MsoNormal, #yiv5931954312 div.yiv5931954312MsoNormal {margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:11.0pt;} #yiv5931954312 a:link, #yiv5931954312 span.yiv5931954312MsoHyperlink {color:blue;text-decoration:underline;} #yiv5931954312 a:visited, #yiv5931954312 span.yiv5931954312MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple;text-decoration:underline;} #yiv5931954312 p.yiv5931954312MsoPlainText, #yiv5931954312 li.yiv5931954312MsoPlainText, #yiv5931954312 div.yiv5931954312MsoPlainText {margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Consolas;} #yiv5931954312 p.yiv5931954312MsoAcetate, #yiv5931954312 li.yiv5931954312MsoAcetate, #yiv5931954312 div.yiv5931954312MsoAcetate {margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:8.0pt;} #yiv5931954312 span.yiv5931954312PlainTextChar {font-family:Consolas;} #yiv5931954312 span.yiv5931954312BalloonTextChar {} #yiv5931954312 .yiv5931954312MsoChpDefault {} _filtered #yiv5931954312 {margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in;} #yiv5931954312 div.yiv5931954312WordSection1 {} #yiv5931954312 Colleagues, May I suggest that, at the next meeting of the Board, motions of congratulations for individuals or organizations, whether for age, excellence, or other factors justifying a motion, should be presented in advance so that they may be included in the consent agenda? In addition, motions presented in advance can be edited for typos and format by the Secretary, reducing the need for "on the fly" error correction during the meeting? This process will allow us to engage in such activity almost without limit, while at the same time freeing up time for more substantive motions. I think we can do both honors and substance.
