The Power Line Communications Association (PLCA) apparently regarded the March 23 World Street Journal article as an "attack" on powerline communications. In their response, which is posted at their Web site http://www.plca.net/newsandevents.wsjresponse.htm, PLCA President and CEO Alan Shark says, among other things, "...there is simply zero empirical evidence that power line communications causes harmful interference with ham radio frequencies.” That is, of course, a bald-faced lie. There is no possibility that Mr. Shark has not encountered "empirical evidence" of the interference.

I have sent him the attached letter by Fax, politely inviting him to issue a retraction. Needless to say, if he does not do so I will not be leaving the matter there.
