Thanks Kermit. Lindquist has a piece on it in the works. This is the result of a good deal of FCC advocacy by the Land Mobile Communications Council (LMCC) in which I participated on behalf of ARRL. Marketing of Boefeng UV-5R V2+ radios outside of their authorization earns Amcrest an FCC Citation and order. Seems that these radios operate even in the VHF aviation portion of the spectrum.... well outside the scope of the limits of their equipment authorization.
