This afternoon I stopped by Hartford Hospital to see
Barry Shelley. I'm pleased to report that Barry looked good and will be going
home tomorrow.
What put him in the hospital was "arterial flutter," which I gather has
something to do with different parts of the heart beating at different (and much
too high) rates. Yesterday the cardiologist was able to get things back into
sync. Barry's pulse rate is now closer to normal, although his blood pressure is
still low. He will be activity-restricted for the next couple of weeks at least,
although he should be able to use email and work from home starting next
Monday.
Barry will be able to tell you more himself pretty soon. In the meantime,
he appreciates everyone's thoughts and prayers.
