    No brag; facts:

                Harris County's population in 2013 was 4.337 million; it covers 1,777 square miles.

                Dallas and Tarrant Counties (Dallas & Ft. Worth) combined only had 4.392 million in 2013 and encompassed only 1,806 square miles.

                A comparison of those facts to the populations of the States results in the "Harris County has a population larger than Oregon, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Iowa, and 20 other states."   See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_population .

                Add Harris, Dallas and Tarrant counties populations and the population of those 3 counties is larger than all States but 10 [as of 2013 census].

                Trust me: there are no complaints.
                In light of past discussions regarding budgets and pending considerations of re-dividing Gaul, I thought it would be a useful data point. Add as a data point that the states with the most Presidential declared disasters — in order — are Texas, California and Oklahoma and one develops an appreciation for the why of the integration of the Texas and Oklahoma sections' EmComm preparations [Mother Nature visits often & and she is one unruly tourist].
