Dear Former Member,
Although it might not be unfair to provide continuing electronic access to back issues for the periods when you were a member, the League does not have the capability to do so. It would involve keeping thousands of personal digital library records, with data on which members were entitled to which issues.
Note that current members are able to access all back issues, including those from before their membership, and even any published during previous lapses.
It would be a significant project for the League to implement the history matching, and I am certain that I would be unable to convince the Board to undertake the project.
Note that the League understands that members can experience financial hardship, and has a program to assist those members. If a member becomes unemployed, experiences sickness or injury, or has some other situation preventing paying the $49 a year dues, they can join a program where they pay about $12 a year for a few years. If this applies to you, please advise me of the situation (details not needed; I trust you), and we can proceed.
73,
Director
