Time
to “fess up.” I should have checked the FCC database to
confirm KC9EXE was still in AZ. That was my mistake not Dave’s.

After coordinating
with who I thought were the two affected Directors (Bellows
and Norton) I sent the following note to KC9EXE.
But apparently his
FCC address is in Wisconsin (apologies to Dick Isely).

Dear Ken:
This is to acknowledge your recent email sent to
several members of the ARRL Board of Directors.
The allegations contained in your message are quite
disturbing. However, if you revisit the site in question (not that I recommend
it) you will find that none of the questionable posts were made by Cal. His
posts are limited to generating interest in Amateur Radio among youth. The fact
that he is willing to pursue this objective among self-declared “misfit
hams” should not be held against him, since – as is affirmed by
Board members who have the pleasure of knowing him – he is clearly not
one of them.
We appreciate your concern for Amateur Radio and
hope that we will have the pleasure of serving you as an ARRL member again in
the future.
73,
David Sumner, K1ZZ
Chief Executive Officer, ARRL
