Dave, I just finished reviewing the current issue of CAP's periodic journal. This made me think of the MOU we have with this (and other) organizations. My takeaway is that our existing MOUs give us active or potential entry into groups that are relatively like-minded with ARRL. In practice, though, I have to wonder if there is any on-going, practical value in the MOUs with CAP and the US Power Squadron. My question is what benefit are we deriving from the MOUs with these latter two groups? Unlike the MOUs with BSA and Red Cross, from my admittedly limited view it seems we are deriving nothing more than a warm, fuzzy feeling. Is there any sort of co-recruiting or other cooperative effort taking place between them and us? They don't seem to be encouraging their chapters/units to use Amateur Radio any more than we appear to be encouraging our ARES units to link up with CAP or the Power Squadron. Similarly, what actual cooperative action is occurring through the MOUs we have with the organizations I've not mentioned? Tnx, Jim Jim Weaver, K8JE Director, Great Lakes Division 5065 Bethany Rd.
