Harold,
This
is very encouraging news. I welcome (and encourage) contact from Debra,
Dewey, Jeff, or anyone else that is involved with improving these
materials. While I doubt we teach a whole lot more people than anyone
else, we have between 100 and 150 students per year and we actively solicit
feedback, so we hear a lot of comments on a variety of topics. The new
tech license manual addressed (as far as I can tell) most of the issues
with the old book, but there is always room for improvement.
I hope
that we can work on a meaningful "new ham" primer. Something that is not
simply an advertising vehicle for radios that most new hams simply wouldn't
buy. Our club teaches "new hams" information and skill classes as a
solution to the problem of lack of information targeted at new hams with less
that a deep technical background. There is a significant vacuum there and
I continue to be amazed at the lack of serious effort by anyone to fill that
market demand.
In any
event, I am pleased to hear about this and look forward to contact from the HQ
staff working this area.

Thanks for the
feedback. We appreciate the nice words about the new Tech Q & A
book. We also introduced the new Practice Exam Software in this
edition. We are all pleased with that product and we believe that it
will make a real difference in exam preparation of our
members.

have an established author and a published model/template to follow for
subsequent editions of the Instructors Manual, we should be able to get future
editions out the door quicker than this one.
