Board:
We receive a lot of “attaboys” from members and I wouldn’t ordinarily distribute one, but I thought Maria Somma’s observations about the level of VEC activity
so far this year were worth sharing.

Hi Art-
Thanks for taking the time to correspond with us via email.
The excitement surrounding the ARRL Centennial this year has created a big boost in VEC activity.
ARRL VEC normally conducts about 550 sessions per month with an average of 7 candidates per session.
Our 2014 first quarter results reveal that we are receiving over 700 sessions per month which translates to an additional 150 sessions and 1000 applicants each month.
We are making every effort to process all exam sessions as quickly and efficiently as possible.
So thank you for noticing!
I want you to know that the VE Team’s efforts are very much appreciated.
The accurately completed paperwork and the speed in which the team handed the session over to the VEC, allowed us to process to FCC quickly and easily.
Kudos to the VE Team as well.
When we all work together as a team to serve our community - magic happens!
73, Maria AB1FM

Maria,
Just wanted to send a great big "Attaboy" to you and your team for the amazingly fast processing of our latest Fairfield, CA test session. Four business days including travel
time from the West Coast is rather stunning.
It's comforting to see that you have the appropriate staffing at HQ to deliver such a high level of service.
