Good morning from snowy CT where we will likely be seeing a total of 2" to 4" of the white stuff today. The good news is that it's likely to melt away before mid-week. I just wanted to pass along the following note from IT Manager Michael Keane, K1MK, about the performance of LoTW this weekend and the reasons why that was noteworthy. Also, please note the final paragraph in the message. We will be announcing jointly with CQ in about a half an hour, that support for CQ's WAZ award will be available beginning today. Chairman Widin and the members of the LoTW Study Group should be commended on their efforts over the past several years which got us to this point. 73, Barry J. Load was hitting 250 on the web server at times with that many simultaneous page requests and downloads! (Normal load is typically 2 - 4) Site did not crash under 50x - 100x loading, although response times were noticeably slow. Monitoring by Uptime Robot registered a single minute of downtime due to all of the congestion and loading We managed to accept 250+ DXCC applications over the weekend, Don't know if that is some kind of record for LoTW but at least not all of the site visits were by window shoppers Today's news for any committee members who are not involved in the beta test or on ODV is that we will be making the joint public announcement along with CQ of the general availability of support for the CQ WAZ award in LoTW @10AM this morning (Monday 02 April 2018). Expect another busy day... 73, Mike K1MK
