Digital QST looks fine on my Kindle Fire if you don't mind the small screen size. It uses an Android-like operating system so you can't download the issue - you have to be connected to the Internet to see it. Everyone I have spoken with who is knowledgeable about Android understands why we can't offer a universal Android solution. Linda has a regular Kindle. It's fine for books printed in black and white but is not suitable for reading magazines. It cannot be downloaded on devices other than Windows based computers. In just a few months, we will have a dedicated iPhone/iPad app that will allow downloads on devices such as iPhones and iPads. We are testing it now. I am not Kindle expert. I do know that some Kindles have browsers and some do not. Their browser implementation varies depending on the age of the device and the model. I have seen it on a Kindle Fire and it looks fine. Dave Sumner has a Kindle Fire and he may be able to provide more details. This also applies to Nooks, Android and other e-reader devices. There are wide variations in operating systems in these devices and no digital publisher can cover all of them in all flavors. This actually hurts publishers since there is no common platform. In the future, Nxtbook and others anticipate a more robuts HTML publishing implementation that will work uniformly across platforms. We have imposed some of the download restriction due to the Digital Rights Managment System. It has been our policy from the beginning of this project not to let QST be open unless you are a member. The fellow with the question referenced the Kindle, not the Kindle Fire, but I would presume that both could be used to read Kindle publications.
