Jay, I fully agree with you. I believe that educating the membership and allowing them the opportunity to become involved in suggesting legitimate changes is very important. The only negative comments I received were we dont need more regulation and why do you want to screw up 160 M with a lot of sub-bands? Hmmm. I satisfied the latter, but the former fellow persisted in his erroneous beliefs. Two others legitimately asked questions. Incidentally, I didnt think it was Dave who gave us our marching orders. I thought it was the imperialistic, neo-fascist, money-grubbing equipment manufacturers! Other than one response warning me that I was going to get a lot of negative comments and one member who said we are all tools of Dave Sumner, all the remaining responses (about a dozen) have been positive. A few folks would like to see a tweak or two but nothing significant. Even so Ill bet the reaction would have been much different if we had filed the petition first. No doubt this will set off a flurry of additional comments and questions, which so far have been relatively light and scattered. Dave K1ZZ http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2004/08/25/1/?nc=1
