Hi,

I’ve been on the phone most of the day as well, but with way different results.. Folks here saw the FCC release from Bloomberg News and other sources first and were really thankful and surprised that ARRL had taken such a pro-active step, especially since it is over a weekend!

David;

I have just received several e-mails and one very irate phone call today asking me what the heck the latest bulletin was about. All are irate and saw it pretty much as an insult to them personally as amateurs.

Once I gave them the context things settled down, but everyone "be prepared".

After a discussion earlier today regarding messaging for PIO’s and PIC’s, I would suggest the following:

Any requests for comment from ARRL should lead to the simple statement to go to arrl.org to read our position.

If there is additional pressure applied for comments, direct all requests to ARRL HQ.

Bob is working with IT on creating a simple email address to direct information requests to.

As it looks like this week could provide some unwanted exposure to our hobby, every comment must be very careful considered before being made.

We will keep the Board informed as this situation unfolds.

David
