This a bit tricky, because ARRL is and must be strictly non-partisan.

However, through personal connections I have put our BPL information into the hands of the Kerry campaign.

I have also personally emailed Reed Hundt, who is working on Kerry's telecomms policy. I want emphasize that I did this on a personal, private basis and not on behalf of the ARRL; I didn't even use my ARRL email address.

Kerry's technology positions are summarized at http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/tech/. Click on bullet #2. At this point the focus is on wireless broadband and on providing economic incentives for service providers to extend broadband service to rural and underserved areas.

I don't know where Kerry stands, but I sure would like to know.

BTW, I copied Bush's speech to the Division along with a few comments about
why it's significant to us, along with a brief explanation of BPL (yes,
there are a few members who still don't know what's happening), and a lot of
folks sent me a note saying that they had used the link to disagree with the
President's promotion of this technology. I was pleased with the response I
got. It's clear that many members appreciated learning about this speech.

Now that we know where Prez Bush stands on BPL, do we have any idea if Sen
Kerry thinks the same way?  How do we find out?  And, how are we working to
get it in front of him as an issue?
