All:

Please let me try and bring some organization to this thread.

There was an error identified before the Board meeting in the original “program”, it was corrected and the corrected program was burned on the flash drives distributed at the meeting with the entire member database. The incorrect one (Division only) may not have been deleted from the drives.

IT was working with VD Woll on a separate issue apparently caused by trying to use the program under the Vista operating system which caused incorrect pagination. In the process, he may have reverted to the incorrect program which started this thread.

There is only one program which was created on July 11, 2015 after discovering the initial error. The database can change (and does) daily because the composition of the ARRL membership changes daily.

Please stand by. So there is no confusion, we will distribute the program with the current (as of yesterday) membership database. This will be done via ODV later today in a .zip file with the instructions so everyone has it. I just want to insure you have the most current information.

Subject: [arrl-odv:24680] Re: Letters

The only problem I experienced this weekend was generating the Senatorial letters and a U.S. Rep letter.  Access didn't like doing it and several times I had to set it up separately.

It appears that Marty was using an older version of the program.  The version I got on the memory stick in July appears to work fine, putting the right info in the Senate letters.

Printing two letters in case of a split zip code is the documented behavior of the application, described in the file which was on the memory stick.

Marty,

Dale and I attended two hamfests this weekend, one in Kentucky and one in Ohio, and had the letter-writing table going.  A quick spot-check of our letters from the two states showed the proper information in the body of the letters, with the correct references to the House bill in the Rep. letters, and to the Senate bill in the Senator letters.

We did find some problems in those zip codes where a district might be split in two.  It seems that the software will print two letters, but then the individual has to know in which district they actually vote.  One gentleman resolved that by going on the Internet to check his district information.

While we didn't generate as many letters as you did, we still have quite a few.  I'll do some more checking as I get them set to send off to HQ.
