Very sorry to hear about Fred’s situation. He was always very helpful to me when I was Region 2 Secretary and President with insights and information based upon his experience south of our border. Fred was not only an avid contester but also a U.S. information officer for many years. He famously suffered at the hands of Argentinian Marxist Guerillas after being accused of being a spy due to his ham radio equipment and antennas (David Sidall talked about this a few months ago) in an attempted kidnapping. He is a good friend and supporter of ARRL.
