Hmmm.  What has it cost us in member-relations to introduce something before it is ready to be introduced?  Could this be another example of insufficient planning and execution?

Another interpretation of this situation could easily be that as goes DXCC processing so goes ARRL.

Hi Mickey,

I asked Dave Patton to respond to your inquiry:

73,

Harold

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We began supporting VUCC in LoTW in January.  To date, we have received about 175 applications, with 89 of them via LoTW, and many in concert with a paper application. We have been able to process some of these VUCC applications.  There were some teething problems on both the IT and MVP ends that needed to be fixed.  Most of these are now resolved and VUCC Certificates are now being printed .  However , we have not made any progress with "backfilling" old paper records and, if an application is waiting for that, we have not done them. We do expect to make more progress on VUCC very soon, but MVP has suffered additional staff losses, mostly due to prolonged illness.  We are currently interviewing for additional staff but as I have explained before, these are difficult positions to fill.

DXCC is slower than we like, but has remained the priority. Any unusually long delays are most likely with applications with individual problems.

ODV,

I've heard recently from several members that they have been waiting many months for their VUCC/DXCC certificates, including apparently as long as last November/December!  Is this "problem" limited to just members in the Delta Division or is it more widespread?  (Or is the waiting period for these certificates now six months or more?)

Thanks and 73,
