Hello All - As noted on odv last week by John Stratton and Chris Imlay,the FCC has accepted an STA for a grant to Texzon to operate a surplus50kw Nautel AM broadcast transmitter on 1710-1900 kHz to demonstratethe use of "Zenneck" waves to facilitate the possibility of power transmissionworld-wide without wires ala Nickolas Tesla. The STA states an ERP of100 watts of emission with 10 Hz bandwidth with a proprietary "probe" antennathat will excite only Zenneck waves with no Norton ground waves. The outrageous claims by Texzon should start paying large dividendsnow that they have their STA application for their demonstration of Zenneck waves.Late last year a un-related pair of physicist claimed that they could observe the long-fabledZenneck waves in dielectric slabs at 625nm (laser), the electric fields would be indistinguishable from normal waveguide modes in their laboratoryset-up without significant mathematical dexiterity in the analysis. I would like to make you aware of some changes to the Public Relations Committee since the Board meeting: After the Board meeting, Chairman Scott Westerman, W9SWS, resigned from the Committee due to work commitments at his job at Michigan State University. President Roderick has appointed Steve "Sid" Caesar, NH7C, as the new Chairman. Sid, who is from Rockville, MD, works for the U.S. Department of the Interior and has been a member of the Public Relations Committee for the past three years. To fill the vacancy left by Scott's departure, Ed Efchak, WX2R, the Northern New Jersey (NNJ) Public Information Coordinator, has been appointed to the Public Relations Committee to fill the vacancy left by Scott's departure.
