As I mentioned on February 4 when we switched email reflector systems
from Lyris to Mailman, the new system has a feature that reminds
subscribers of their password once a month. The individual subscriber
can turn this off if they wish.
Today being the first of the month, reminders were sent out to, among
others, an infrequently used mailing list of Volunteer Examiners. This
has generated a bit of confusion, since the VEs are not used to
receiving emails via this list and people are understandably suspicious
of messages about passwords that they receive from out of the blue.
If you hear about this from a VE or other member, please tell them not
to worry about it. They can safely ignore the reminder. The feature has
been shut off for the VE list so as to avoid future confusion.
