IOTA incorporated this for their 2006 and later contests and participation is real high. That may be aided by the fact that submitting a log to them involves an initiating email to them from the submitter, a followup from them, and a final email from the submitter. Using the # of online FD soapboxes as compared to other contests, this will be a hit. Dave, Tnx. Yes, I understand about the perfidies of mapping systems. I just finished searching using Expedia and MSN for comparison with Google. These latter did quite well. Expedia came within a couple hundred feet west of the actual site and MSN was some 600-800 feet east of it. If I think of it, I'll check out my Garmin and On-Star just to see how they do. Incidentally, Tylersville Rd. has been very developed for business for over 10 years and interchanges with I-75. Its main attraction years ago was that the VOA Bethany transmitting station and the WLW radio transmitter were both headquartered on Tylersville, Rd. It also has been the main access road to Mason, OH from the west for even more decades. A lot of additional commercial development has taken place along Tylersville Rd. during the 10+ years we've lived out here. Again, tnx to Jon for the fine work. If anyone wishes to check my entry, look for WC8VOA. Notice that the address I've given is on Tylersville Rd. which has been a very major road in this growing area for many years. Regardless, the mapping program shows WC8VOA to be a few miles south of Tylersville Rd. on a totally different road. Interestingly, I've entered a few different street numbers on Tylersville Road only to see the FD site being located at identically the same location according to the balloon. I applaud Jon for his excellent work in setting the program up for FD locating use. Why the mapping program is so far off I do not know.
