Some days this job is a lot of fun. On Friday I managed to reach Ian Martinez, Communications Manager at the Telecommunications Industry Association, and asked him for the source of the 200,000 figure cited in the NTIA Broadband Report. He mentioned two research firms that TIA had relied on: In-Stat and Wilkofsky Gruen Associates. I contacted In-Stat first. 5 FEB 2008 - 0005 CST Unless ARRL member email options are changed to allow opt-in on ARRL 3rd party commercial promotions as it does for other options, these sales pitches need to be eliminated. I don't know what the sales return is, but I doubt if it's worth the growing member aggravation and risk of losing our ability to communicate via email with many of them. - Dick, W9GIG
